Magic Leap video gives peek at its technology

MAGIC LEAP VIDEO GIVES PEEK AT IT’S TECHNOLOGY

Magic Leap, the secretive virtual reality company headquartered in Plantation, debuted a video Tuesday giving a glimpse of some everyday uses of its technology.

The YouTube video was shot on April 8 with “no special effects,” according to spokesman Andre Fouche.

In an office setting, information about a worker’s day pops up with the morning’s weather, messages, calendar of events and production charts — not on a screen but projected in front of him. He taps a message from his daughter, who has emailed him her Mount Everest school project. A 3-D graphic appears illustrating the climb up the mountain and a history of those who have reached the top.

The user then pulls up a shoe website, pulls a shoe out to examine in 3-D and decides to buy it.
